I enjoyed the sunset over the river from the large balcony outside my lovely, clean room. You can also catch the sunrise through the trees here. Breakfast was simple, and I ordered in while enjoying the view.

Phetchaburi Basin is a wonderful place to recharge mentally. The atmosphere is private and peaceful, with a little morning mist and birdsong. Bring a portable kettle and whatever coffee you like.

The staff were so kind and helpful, and made it easy to get around by finding me a tuk tuk or moto taxi when I needed one. The place is a bit far from the city, so a scooter would be handy. My room was spacious and clean, with a lovely river view, and felt well worth the price. Thanks for a great two nights. I highly recommend it and would stay again if I return to Petchaburi! :)

I booked the maithong riverside through agoda, but was told on arrival that I had booked the maithong tara. Beware, it felt like a bait and switch. The tara isn't by the river, and the rooms are sterile. My bed was hard and uncomfortable, the wifi was unusable, and nearby construction and a busy road meant traffic noise in the room. The a/c broke in the middle of the night, and it was too hot to sleep. Worst hotel room ever. Avoid.
