The shower was the main problem. Its bathroom showerhead was broken, making it quite difficult to shower that day. I stayed one night in Phitsanulok on the way to Sukhothai and booked this historic hotel out of curiosity after reading that the Japanese Emperor had visited. Photos of the Emperor's visit were there, along with a photo of Princess Sirindhorn in the lobby. Its location and architectural scale suggest it once had a glorious history, but the interior is now quite dilapidated, and details feel neglected, perhaps from lack of maintenance. Still, for the unexpectedly low price, I can't be too critical. The cleanliness and room view were worth what I paid, and I really have no complaints about the price. During my short trip, the hotel seemed to reflect Phitsanulok itself, once glorious and now showing signs of decline.

Listen, I know it's cheap, so I didn't expect much. But the hotel was almost empty, and after looking at the pictures, we still got one of the worst rooms. The bed was broken, the pillows were hard as wood, so I slept on my clothes, and the two singles we'd asked for kept rolling around on their wheels. The hotel is DEFINITELY haunted. The towels and bed sheets also gave me an extremely bad rash all over my body, which I have to treat now.

The place is a little worn, but for the price it worked well for us. The beds were the best, and we had a large room, a good bathroom, a nice balcony, and lovely views.

The air conditioning was quiet and the water pressure was good. My room had a king bed, though the mattress seemed about seven feet wide, roughly the width of two super singles. It's an older hotel, but it's maintained, and what you get feels adequate for the price.

The staff were excellent, and the hotel is right in the center, so you can walk to explore the inner city. Every room has a balcony, which is a nice perk for seeing the city from the upper floors. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the bed was good, though the building feels dated and a bit rundown. Cleanliness was decent. WiFi worked, but it was slow. The bathroom had low water pressure, and the amenities were sparse, just a small soap bar and a tiny shampoo bottle. There was no toothbrush kit. You can borrow a hair dryer from reception. Breakfast costs 100 baht for an American set, with no buffet when occupancy is low. Parking at the hotel itself is very limited, but its private lot is only a few steps away, with some covered spaces. For the money, I'd call it average overall.
