The reception staff were the saving grace here. They were friendly, helpful, and quick to respond, and they're the reason this gets 2 stars instead of 1. Still, I paid 2,968 THB for a Signature King with an extra bed and got an experience that felt worth 1,000 THB at most. The room felt unfinished in practical ways: the bathroom lights only worked when the main lights were on, and there was no light by the entrance, so I had to use my phone to find the keycard slot. The floors and walls were crooked, sunlight came in under the door, and traffic from the main road was noticeable at night. Cleanliness was a serious problem. The first pillowcase had holes, the replacement pillow underneath was dirty, and I found a cockroach in the bathroom. It didn't seem like the rooms were properly checked before guests arrived. The pool area looked worn and unlike the photos online, though it felt nicer at evening pool level. The place needs restoration. Breakfast being included was a small plus, but the food was just meh. With the noise, hygiene issues, awkward wiring, and dated condition, the price is hard to justify. It feels like a budget hotel, not one close to 3,000 THB.

The bed was ok, and since the place is cheap it wasn't terrible for what we paid, but the rooms felt pretty run down. One was dusty and dirty when we arrived, with hair on the floor and cut nails in a corner. The airco in that room ran weakly, and turning up the fan made no difference to the airflow. The air-conditioning filter in the picture explains why. If management sees this, cleaning the filters should be top priority, then redo the walls and ceilings. Breakfast had a basic Western selection of cornflakes, bread, eggs, and jelly, while the Thai food offered more choice. The coffee machine had plenty of options, and the ones we tried tasted alright.

The rooms are nice, and I had no complaints about the regular double room I moved to for my last night. The jacuzzi room was another story: its jacuzzi was louder than a jet engine, totally deafening and unusable. Breakfast was very basic for this price.

Breakfast was awesome, especially the rice porridge and Pad Thai, and the service was excellent too. Staying downtown made it easy to explore the town. I'd definitely book here again if I return.

Mr.Chearb ((Cheab) was a great bartender. Try the Long Island ice tea, it's awesome!! The hotel was clean and the pool was nice. Recommended for anyone staying in this city, choose The Zense Boutique Hotel👍
