I've traveled all over the world and never met a receptionist this rude. On the first evening I told her the internet wouldn't connect, and she barely looked up before replying. The next day, when we asked for fresh towels, she said we should put a make-up-room sign on the door next time. We argued about it. A hotel receptionist shouldn't scold guests like that.

The location works well for the old town and for visiting immigration, and you can find cheap food nearby. For 600thb, though, I expected more. The WiFi barely worked, the air conditioning was very old and loud, and noise came through from outside, other rooms and the staff. I was on the third floor and could hear everything, even loud sounds at night and early in the morning around 6am. I struggled to sleep even with earplugs and headphones. The bed was big but quite hard, and there seemed to be a dip in the mattress. It's okay for a night, but I wouldn't stay long. The neighborhood felt a bit sketchy, with about 4-5 special massage places on the same street 😀.

Superior rooms cost 500.- THB, and suites are 800.-THB. The rooms are clean and the staff friendly, though the service is rudimentary at best. Still, it's a great place to stay. There are loads of massage parlors nearby and, to my surprise, lots of men traveling alone too. I wonder why....

We saw a rate of 550 thb on the hotel's website, but when we arrived without a booking, the receptionist quoted 850thb per night. I showed her the website, but the hotel had no wifi, so we had to go somewhere else to book online. When we came back, we found out there was no lift and had to carry our luggage upstairs. The receptionist said no when we asked if anyone could help. Our “superior” room had no proper window, just one facing the corridor. There were marks on the bed and wall, and what looked like rotten spots in the bathroom. During the night, staff made so much noise we couldn't sleep. They didn't understand when we told them. At checkout they tried to charge us for two bottles of water that were free. I don't understand how a place like this can still exist.

A quiet area at a reasonable price, with local food and plenty of massage shops around. Not bad for one night.
