We cooked for ourselves, and the house had all the equipment we needed. There are four rooms, each with a king-size bed, set in the corners around a pool in the middle. It’s a cheap, great spot for a weekend away with friends.

We left in the middle of the night. The staff member we called listened for a moment, then hung up while we were still talking and never got back to us. We couldn’t sleep in the first-floor room we’d been moved to because we could clearly hear people upstairs walking and shutting doors. In the first room, there were ants on the bedsheet. Staff offered to spray or change it, and spraying sounded scary, so we switched rooms. The mate said all the second-floor rooms had ants. There was dust around too, which made the rooms seem like they’d been vacant for a while.

We liked it so much that our planned one-night stay turned into four nights.
