Cashew Resort

The food was good and the prices reasonable, and the location is peaceful. At the restaurant, staff speak little to no English, as usual. We weren’t looking for a chat about the food or weather, but even ordering was hard because the waiters struggled to understand us. The peace was also interrupted by an idiotic German male tourist who gave people a hard time about being naked. We were literally 20 metres from the beach. He’s apparently been coming for 10 years and has appointed himself governor of the resort.

The beach location is amazing, and the staff are friendly. This was the best maintained and managed place on the island that we saw. They put a lot of work into improving the huts, most of which have been renovated recently, and they keep working on the restaurant too. I’ll come back and stay for a while 🏖️

The location is excellent, with boats from Ranong stopping just in front of the resort. Our Agoda booking showed a different bungalow from the one we were given. The one we stayed in was awkward to use because reaching the toilet meant going down outside stairs, although most of the bungalows aren’t like that. The food was okay, but there’s better and cheaper food around the island.

We ate at the restaurant a few times. Breakfast was very good and reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. People smoking without regard for those eating were the only thing that spoiled it for us.
