Phuket Moonlit Bay Seaview Resort&Spa

We spent two weeks here and loved every day. The rooms were extremely comfortable, and the staff were thoughtful and caring throughout. Tik and the other ladies at reception were wonderful. The gentleman at the front, perhaps security or the porter, was exceptionally friendly and kind; we only wish we'd learned his name. Housekeeping's two ladies were warm and attentive. The pool attendant was especially considerate to my son while he did online school, making sure the air conditioning was on and even burning incense to keep mosquitoes away. All the staff were genuinely lovely.

We left the same evening and had to find another hotel. They offered an upgrade, but it wouldn't have fixed the problems we saw. After a lot of discussion, they agreed several days later to refund two of our three nights, presenting it as generous because our booking had a no refund policy. That policy would make sense if we changed our plans, but we had booked based on an online description that didn't match what we found. Calling that fraud is the only way I can describe it. They still haven't paid the full amount they promised. This ruined two valuable travel days while we replanned, and I can't recommend this place. It's awful that customers can be lured into booking online and then face such a bad surprise. We paid 6000THB per night for a property shown in the pictures as a nice resort, expecting somewhere pleasant for our holiday. Instead, nearly everything was run down, dirty, or in poor condition. The room itself was reasonably clean and spacious, to be fair, but when a remote place charges this much and calls itself a resort, the grounds matter too. There were several neglected apartments, and dirt all around what they called our villa. The gym was one reason we booked, but its machines were rusty, dirty, and not working. The beach area was filthy, the pool looked very dirty, and there are no shops or restaurants nearby. There were also serious safety hazards, with missing railings beside a 3 m drop in the floor. I wouldn't let children run around there.

We paid for the stay in advance, then the hotel stopped communicating. Our flights were cancelled because of the situation in the UAE, and the hotel ignored every request we made to change the dates or get a refund. They took our money and gave no reply at all. The customer service was zero. I don't recommend this place. Update: The hotel's response is factually wrong when it says they contacted me to sort things out. I reached out several times by email and WhatsApp to ask for a refund or different dates, and heard nothing back. We were looking forward to visiting the resort and didn't want to lose our money. If they'd actually contacted me, I'd have been happy to reschedule.

I checked out after just one night because there was no immediate fix when I complained. They only refunded part of my booking, 4 out of 7 nights. The condition at Phuket Moonlit Bay Seaview Resort & Spa was catastrophic: the whole property felt neglected and unhygienic, the common areas and beach were filthy, the furniture stained, and rust was visible everywhere. There was also a strong, unpleasant sanitary smell throughout. The hotel's response misleads: I neither had nor asked for breakfast, and its accusations are false. My review is based on my documented experience with the cleanliness and hygiene. Not as described, and not recommended.
