Andaman Cove Condos

A special place.

The sea view from the living room was amazing, and there was a cute pool too. But the apartment wasn't really cheap, and the location felt quite oppressive, with inconvenient access. They charge for electricity, and the kitchen didn't even have basic coffee or an anti-tank. There was no basic way to land there at night and get by, either. There was a strong smell of pesticides that we felt was already dangerous to breathe. We also saw traces of rat droppings in the living room and heard rats running in the air conditioner ventilation shafts. And there's no access to the sea.

In apartment 100/6, the kitchen was huge and practical, with an oven, range hood, and lots of appliances. There was also a very large TV, panoramic windows throughout, and a balcony looking out over the jungle. The complex had a pool and a private beach, and it was quiet and peaceful. The complex itself felt a little stuffy, but that didn't get in the way of a comfortable stay.

We lived in the complex for half a year. The complex itself has plenty going for it: friendly staff, a private beach, quiet surroundings, and mostly Russian-speaking neighbors. It feels family-run, and there usually aren't other people around. But apartment 100/1, where we stayed, was another story. It's the highest apartment with panoramic windows, and its only real plus was the beautiful view. The renovation was old and things were falling apart. Curtains had holes, bits of wood came off the doors, cabinet handles were peeling, the stairs were full of holes, and a hole in the wall had been covered with a piece of wallpaper. The air conditioners were old too. By the end of the month, be prepared for electricity and water bills of around 25-30 thousand baht. They came to repair the air conditioners several times a month, and each time said they were old. For the last two months, strange bugs came out of every crack after sunset. There were about 1,000 of them, and I'm not exaggerating. They were everywhere, even in the bed. When we told the landlord, he just advised us to turn off the lights, despite us living there with a one-year-old child. Mice also ran over the roof at night, making clear squeaking and scratching noises. We caught them inside the apartment several times. We reported that too, but the landlord did nothing. The plumbing was broken, and the hot water in the shower in the large bedroom didn't work. There were JBL speakers in the large room. When my husband asked if they worked before we moved in, we were told they did. After moving in, the manager said they didn't work. So friends, think carefully about apartment 100/1. It's better to look at other apartments in this complex.
