The owners are super friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and nice, and the beach is a five-minute walk away. There are shops and restaurants all around, too.

I felt safe, welcomed, and looked after during my nine days there. The owners and staff are genuinely lovely, kind, and helpful. Around day eight I became ill with diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and abdominal pain, possibly from local food. The owners helped me and even accompanied me to hospital in the middle of the night. There were some power outages in the room, which was a small downside. The location was okay, and you can reach everything on foot if you’re willing to walk at least 15 minutes to the beach. If you’re hoping to meet Thai people and experience Thai culture, be aware that some Russians have settled there since the war in Ukraine began. At least half the local population, excluding tourists, is Russian. Prices are still fairly low for Thailand at the moment, but they may rise over the next few years because of Russian investment in the region and the purchase of some businesses.

I loved exploring the whole peninsula, from Nai Harn and Yanui beaches to Promthep cape and Rawai beach. I regularly walked the roughly 8km round trip. The local street life and culture have a real charm, and there are plenty of shops and services nearby. Baan Oui is close to the beaches and snorkeling spots, where I swam among fish and coral, without costing a fortune. My week here was even better than my stay at a 5-star hotel in Patong. The hosts were warm and helpful, and made the place feel homely. I could cook local prawns in the well-equipped kitchen, and they provided as much bottled water as I needed, plus bowls of fruit. My room was spacious, and the aircon worked well while I spent quite a bit of time working there. Motorbikes are available to rent, though I enjoyed the short walk to the beach via the lake. I’d happily recommend Baan Oui.

I felt looked after, safe, and welcome throughout my stay at Baan Oui Guest House. The owners and staff are lovely, kind people, and I really enjoyed being there. The building is clean and nicely presented, with spacious, bright rooms, blackout curtains, and a quiet atmosphere. There’s a large cooking area too. The location worked really well: 2min to Nai Harn Lake, about 10 min on foot to Nai Harn beach, and very close to 7/11, cafes, restaurants, and a smoothie bar. I’d absolutely come back and recommend it.
