The monthly rent is fantastic, and moving here cut my rent by 70%. I’ve been here four days now on a long-term arrangement, and the smaller space suits me just right. It’s a spacious studio with a kitchen that closes off and is partly open to the outdoors, so you can use a grill. I bought a hot plate, and the internet is reliable enough for Netflix. The caretaker staff do a great job keeping everything tidy. Before this, I lived alone in a nice Mediterranean-style, two-story place with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, high ceilings, and a big living room. I was there nine months, but it was just too much space for one person.

We had a lovely couple of days here, and it was excellent value for money. The owner was amazingly quick to respond whenever we asked for something, helped us rent a scooter, arranged an airport transfer, and fixed a few small things in the room. We chose the place because it’s close to KiteZone Phuket, where we went kitesurfing. It’s only a few minutes away by scooter, and I really recommend staying here.

It was quiet here, away from the main roads, but there were still some great restaurants nearby. The hosts were so caring that it felt like staying with family. Great value, and there’s a gym you can use too.

Rawai works as a base, and you’ll really need your own transport unless you’re easily pleased. Luckily, May rents scooters. Vi House is tucked off the main road down a small dirt road, but my room was clean, bright, and great. Breakfast was good, with plenty to eat, served from 8 to 11. May, the very young owner, made the stay worthwhile. She was friendly and helpful, worried when I was arriving late, and tried to contact me so she could pick me up. When I left, she dropped me at the bus stop. I can’t praise her enough.
