Wyndham La Vita Rawai Phuket

The kids’ pool was a hit, and the shuttle to the nearby beaches was a really useful service. There weren’t quite enough sunbeds for everyone at the pool given the size of the resort, but it didn’t bother us much. We chose this place for the family room, with two connected bedrooms, a shared area, and a kitchenette, as well as the children’s pool. Both lived up to what we expected. The bed was enormous, probably wider than it was long, and the most comfortable hotel bed we’ve had in ages. Breakfast had a decent selection and was quieter if you went before 9:00. 7-11 and plenty of restaurants are a 10-15 minute walk away. Recommended!

We stayed at Pullman Panwa before coming here, and the difference was striking. That hotel was excellent; Wyndham La Vita Phuket fell far short of its photos, ratings, and price. For us, coming from Australia, the hospitality standards here were simply unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend it to families, older guests, or anyone expecting comfort, space, or genuine hospitality. We had booked based on the advertised suite or villa style, hoping to have one room for my elderly father and another for me, my husband, and our child. Instead, on arrival we were moved to the “last building,” reached by a very steep walk from the lobby. That was unsuitable for my father, and no one had properly explained this or offered us a choice. The room was tiny, with a low ceiling and almost no space to move. We had to put our suitcases in the bathroom because there was nowhere else for them, and there was barely room to walk around the bed. Service was poor throughout. Room service was slow and unhelpful, and the food was very low quality. Even simple requests took too long. When I asked for an iron, I waited over 30 minutes and got one that was broken and unusable. Basic supplies were also disappointing. The towels were old, thin, and worn, the slippers couldn’t be used, and laundry bags and other essentials were missing or poor quality. The room felt neglected and well below an acceptable standard. The staff’s attitude was among the worst parts of the stay. Smiles were rare, and people often seemed irritated or unhappy to deal with guests. The interactions felt cold, sometimes openly angry, and left the hotel feeling very unwelcoming.

We had a lovely family stay, and the kids’ pool was awesome. The swim-up bar service was fantastic, a bonus for the parents. Thanks to Pause Boom Pui for keeping the Dry Martinis topped up. They were hands down the best in Phuket. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The beachfront is less than a five-minute walk away, so the location worked well for Rawai beach. I’d stay here again. The complex is nicely laid out, with buildings spaced around pools that connect down the hill toward reception. It’s a unique feature. The rooms were spacious and had the amenities you’d expect. Breakfast was satisfactory, though I’d have liked a wider choice for a 5* hotel.
