Plaai Prime Hotel Rayong

The street nearby is noisy, though traffic wasn't bad at night. Our balcony never got sun. It was much the same at the pool: there was shade almost everywhere, apart from a small corner that might get an hour or two of sunshine.

The parking area in the building is cramped, with too few spaces. The bigger problem was the yellowish water in the bathtub. I asked reception to move us, but they said the hotel was full and sent a repairman instead. He thought something might be wrong with a pipe and told us to let the water run. I’d already done that for half an hour. I checked the website and saw rooms still available, so I called reception again and argued about it. Later they said a guest had just checked out and that I was lucky to get a room. In the middle of the night? 😒 I didn’t expect this from a four-star hotel, and I wasn’t happy.

We had to leave because the morning power outage lasted around three hours and made the room unusable. I was traveling with my two elderly parents, who have serious health issues, so staying without electricity felt unsafe. The bedding was in very poor condition too, with holes in both the sheets and pillow covers, nothing like the advertised standard. When we raised this with the manager, he shifted the blame and tried to charge us for one night even though the hotel hadn’t provided basic service. The whole experience was stressful and unprofessional. We booked Plaai Hotel in Rayong, but it was a major disappointment. I can’t recommend it.

The price is very reasonable, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s a small hotel. Breakfast was average, though kids would probably enjoy the range of choices.
