The Nine Hotel Roi-et

For a place presented as a luxury hotel, I expected more, even keeping in mind that this is Thailand. Check-in took painfully long. The room looked okay at first, but there were problems I didn't raise while there. The bathroom was still wet, possibly from the previous guest, and even the toilet roll was soggy. Behind a solid door was a small balcony with no window. I thought it might bring in some natural light, but it was very dirty, with rubbish on it, and looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in months. They provided a kettle and hot water, but no tea, coffee, or sugar. For a luxury stay, some drinks in the fridge would have been nice too. I would've been happy to pay for them.

Dinner was excellent, but breakfast the next morning was a complete letdown. When we asked, there was nothing at all, not even coffee. The rooms are spacious and clean, though the decor is dated. It's far from anywhere, and I don't think it's set up for longer stays. It felt more like a motel.

Very clean, and the decorations look nice in every detail.
