NW 4896 Theater Hotel @ Samnakkham

The room has lovely decor and the staff were friendly. Outside gets noisy at night, though.

The breakfast was the one real letdown. It’s very basic, with steamed sausages as the only meat, and you make your own drinks from coffee powder, Milo, and similar options. They use disposable dishes and don’t provide cutlery, so it felt like a cheap buffet. The hotel is clean and still looks new, including the room decor, and I slept well. At this rate, getting bathrobes and matching hotel linen is a nice surprise. Rooms facing outward can hear the bars downstairs. It’s a huge place with 140 rooms, right in the middle of everything. It also seems to work like a NAME WEE shrine, if you’re a fan of him or if it’s meant to make you think he’s your next idol.

We booked six rooms for 1 July 2025 at 1,350 THB each, around RM180, but the stay at 4896 theater hotel in Danok, in room 420, fell well short of what I expected. The room felt underwhelming, with poor lighting and little atmosphere. The bathroom raised safety concerns: its tiles were dangerously slippery, and the warning sign wasn’t enough, especially for elderly guests. The basin was also installed much too low. Towels were poor quality and didn’t absorb water. Breakfast had very little choice, just one item from the menu. The whole experience felt like a low-budget hotel, so the price seemed far too high. The features advertised on social media seemed misleading and didn’t match what was actually offered. I was very disappointed, can’t recommend it, and wouldn’t stay here again despite the “Best in Danok” claim.

The rooms were extremely clean, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The location is directly opposite the clubs, which is handy if you’re looking for companionship or going out at night. Music from the clubs carries through the windows, though, so it may bother light sleepers. They only take cash on site, with no digital payment options, which is inconvenient. If nightlife is your reason for visiting Dannok, it could suit you. Otherwise, expect noise and bring cash.
