The Pine Resort (SHA Extra Plus)

The room was okay, just a room, but the service was below average and clearly lacking. We asked for an extra sofa bed, but they took away one regular bed and put two mattresses on the floor instead. The dining table hadn’t been cleaned, and I found three strands of hair on the bed that weren’t ours, two of them shown in the photo. I’d give the location three stars because it’s not relevant.

The activities over the lake were exciting and fun, especially the sky hawk or whatever it’s called. The rooms were okay, and the staff were nice.

The lake water is dirty, and the food is terrible. Some bathroom doors in the rooms don’t lock, and the room doors don’t seal properly, so insects get inside.

The Pine Resort is an affordable, basic option for large groups that need somewhere to meet and do activities. I joined a church retreat with about 80 people, including children but mostly teens. There are dorm sections and private rooms, and I chose a private room with two twin beds and a large bathroom. It’s really just somewhere to lay your head. The private rooms are down the road and have their own large pool, which I appreciated. Our group brought its own food and ate under the covered areas. We had AC meeting rooms and large outdoor covered spaces, plus water activities and a big field for basketball, volleyball, football/soccer, zipline, and barrel rafting. The place has potential to reach four or five stars if it’s modernized. If you need meeting space and activities that can accommodate a lot of people, this is a location to book. Recommended for large groups.
