After long days of cycling, we arrived tired and Jan made us feel welcome straight away. Happy Mind was one of the best stays we’ve had in Thailand. We liked our clean, spacious room facing the garden, and the quiet location worked perfectly for us, with the beach, shops, and cafe only a short ride away. Breakfast was a treat, and Nan’s home-cooked Thai dinners were tasty and made with care. Jan and Nan looked after us so well. They even lent us their own scooter and showed us how to ride it, and their suggestions for places to see around Sam Roi Yot were much appreciated. They’re passionate about the area and make sure guests are cared for. We stayed two extra nights and were sad to leave. We hope to visit again one day. Amanda and Andy.

We only stayed one night and wished we had longer. The rooms were very clean, and the resort felt like a quiet oasis. The hosts made us feel at home right away and helped with everything, from food and activities to transport and transfers.

Jan has recently taken over the resort and helped us with everything we needed. The grounds and rooms were tidy and very clean, and there’s a lovely pool. He and his girlfriend are super nice and helpful, and we felt comfortable right from the start. Breakfast and the restaurant are still in their early stages, and some parts are being refurbished, but that didn’t bother us. It seems like things will only get better. If we return to Sam Roi Yot for a holiday, we’ll definitely stay here again.

This place became my new favourite in Thailand. We booked three days at first, then extended because we loved it so much. The new owners, as of Jan 2026, made the stay special. They arranged motorbikes and even offered to take us to Hua Hin, nothing was too much trouble. It has the hospitality of a guesthouse, resort facilities, and lovely hotel rooms. We’ll be back!

The garden and pool sit inside the rooms, with lots of sunbeds, covered tables, and swings. You can choose a one- or two-bedroom place, and ours was very clean. Jen helped us arrange transport to lotus Lake and Phraya Nakhon Cave. He and Nan are lovely hosts, and Nan’s freshly made dinners were delicious and reasonably priced. We ate there twice. Breakfast is simple but adequate, with coffee, tea, toast, and muesli. Eggs are available for a small extra fee. We hope to come back!
