The Elephant House and Pool Villas

The mattress and blanket were really comfortable, and the housekeeper was so kind and friendly. We had a garden-view bungalow, a beautiful traditional Thai wooden house that felt authentic, especially in summer. At 2,200 a night, it felt quite expensive, even though it was New Year. December was rather cold, and there was no heater. I also couldn’t find the air conditioning remote, so nights weren’t very comfortable. The bathroom has little sound insulation, and the house shakes a bit. There were some holes in the floor too, so the conditions are a little rough. Just be prepared.

What I loved most was the peaceful, private atmosphere. It felt like a tropical hideaway, yet Chiang Mai was close enough to enjoy. The gardens were beautifully kept, with fruit trees and blooming lotus flowers, and a friendly tortoise wandered around. The large, clear pool was lovely for relaxing after exploring. My villa was clean, comfortable, and full of character, with traditional Thai architecture and beautiful woodwork. I especially liked the outdoor soaking tub and shower, which gave it a luxury-resort feel. Every corner seemed picture-perfect. Elephant House and Pool Villas is a beautiful, serene place with authentic Thai charm and lovely amenities. I’d happily stay again and already miss waking up near the gardens and spending afternoons by the pool. 10/10, one of my favorite stays in Thailand.

I rarely write reviews, but I’ll remember this stay for a long time. When I arrived, I couldn’t ride a bike or swim. Garry took time to teach me, even though he had no obligation to. In two days I learned to ride, and within five I could swim. That patience and generosity went far beyond what I’d expect from a hotel owner. The owners’ warmth, care, and attention to detail show throughout the property. Everything is thoughtfully designed, spotless, and comfortable, with a balance of elegance and relaxation that made it easy to feel at home. The rooms and common areas both reflect real care and quality. This kind of hospitality feels deeper than service. It’s kindness, dedication, and a willingness to invest in people as well as guests. If you want a comfortable stay that also feels meaningful and memorable, this place delivers. I’d return without hesitation and recommend it to anyone who values thoughtful service and a real human connection.

Gary and Rose made us feel right at home, and Rose cooked a fantastic dinner after our hard day of cycling. We happened on this lovely, comfortable accommodation by chance while riding from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, and were lucky to find it. The bed is very comfortable, the 25-meter pool is great for swimming laps, and breakfast is delicious and well worth having. Thank you both for your hospitality.
