Pinnacle Grand Jomtien Resort

Breakfast was chaotic, with too few plates and pieces of cutlery, and the staff seemed overwhelmed despite trying their best. The rooms were in poor shape, with rust in the bathrooms, and ongoing construction made the area unsafe for children. We didn’t get the adjacent rooms we’d requested in advance. During heavy rain, we were told to walk to the restaurant, then watched a large group get a buggy ride moments later. At the restaurant, they brought us the bill before we’d finished eating. At checkout, they even tried to charge us for a broken umbrella we’d borrowed. This hotel definitely doesn’t meet 4-star standards.

We arrived shortly after 7 pm on Sunday, Aug 10, to celebrate Mother’s Day in Thailand. The front desk receptionist seemed irritated, though I’d greeted her with a smile and shown my booking. She went straight to asking for our passports and photocopied them without checking the reservation. I’d booked a king standard bed through trip.com, but she gave us twin beds, so things were off from the start. She told us to wait for the bellboy, but didn’t tell him to help. When I raised my hand and smiled to let her know I needed him, she replied, “arai,” meaning “what!!” I explained that I needed the bellboy to take me to my room, and only then did she say, “Oh yes ok ok!” I was annoyed by how unhelpful and disrespectful she was toward us as guests. More problems followed. If you book here and arrive at night, avoid this front desk lady. She doesn’t know customer service and doesn’t care about the guests.

The private beach and pools are the main pluses, and the price is reasonable. Breakfast is good, Thai style, and the internet works well. Beyond that, the hotel feels past its glory days. The rooms are in very bad condition, the amenities are poor quality, and the staff no longer seem eager to work. Reception was horrible, with a long wait, no smiles, and the same 1,000 bath deposit request. There’s not much around, and although the hotel has a shuttle, it isn’t enough.
