Lipe Banyan Apartments

The view is great, and you’re just seconds from the beach. The place is on the Pattaya beach side away from walking street, which is generally quieter. Getting to the bars and busier areas takes a 10-15 minute walk. That suited me since I prefer a quieter spot, though it may not be for everyone. The room was generally fine. The shower holder was broken but still worked, so I just had to be careful not to knock it. Everything else was fine, and I’d definitely stay again.

We stayed for 18 days and really enjoyed how much this apartment felt like home instead of a hotel. It’s spacious and has all the things you’d need, including a full kitchen, fridge, burner, TV, internet, and hot shower. They cleaned the rooms, changed the sheets, and provided bath and beach towels. You can also leave clothes to be washed. A great stay, 10/10, thanks! 😀

We chose it for a long stay because the rooms were very spacious and well equipped. There was a large fridge, stove, full set of utensils, good internet, and a TV, and the room was clean and comfortable. It’s a bit inland from the beach and a long walk from the walking street. There aren’t food places nearby, so food and supplies mean quite a bit of walking. The nearby beach had lots of debris washed ashore by the monsoon tides. For the price, it’s fair compared with better-kept, better-positioned places like Bella Vista and Mali.

Getting from the pier with luggage took a little planning: a local taxi from Walking Street cost 50 THB per person, while it may be manageable to walk to lipe banyan apartment with just a backpack. Pattaya Beach is only a two-minute walk away, and the area is quiet enough for a good night's sleep, though roosters may wake you early. Walking Street is about ten minutes away on foot. There’s no lift, so you’ll have to carry your bags up the stairs. The room has a microwave for reheating food, but breakfast isn't provided. Keep in mind that 711 prices on Koh Lipe can be much higher than on the mainland, sometimes double, so buying a few things before coming over may save money. The staff were friendly and tried to help. When one room's air conditioning failed on our first night, they brought a fan, but said a technician could only come the next day. We had booked two rooms, and the air conditioning in the other one worked slowly too, though I can't say if the heat outside was a factor. We asked for a discount after paying a high rate and spending a night without air conditioning, but they refused. The room was clean, though the peeling ceiling paint and bathroom wall made it seem poorly maintained. The ocean view was only a small, distant slice, unlike what we'd expected.
