I paid for a month but left after two and a half weeks. The room was basic but fine for a longer stay, except the walls were so thin that I heard everything. The landlord’s grandchildren seemed to live in one of the rooms. They screamed in the hallway and cried from around 2 a.m. until they left at 8, then again when they came back in the evening. I brought my sheets and towels down to be changed, but they never gave me replacements and still charged me for the laundry. Unless you can sleep through a war, I’d find somewhere else.

The laundry service was all right, but one pair of white pants came back with dirt on them, as if they’d been put on a dirty surface. When I collected my things, two items that belonged to someone else were mixed in.

They returned my laundry covered in bleach marks, and half my clothes were ruined. Nobody mentioned it. I only noticed after I’d paid and got home. I’ve included one photo as an example, but there was more damage. If they charge customers for this service, they should take better care of their belongings.

We paid €40 a night in January for a really good room. It was spotless and had Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and hot water. The staff were so friendly, too. Great value, and I’d definitely recommend it for Koh Lipe.
