Cape Racha Hotel

I was told someone would meet me at the new building, but nobody was there when I got to my room. I had to call reception AGAIN just to get access. Earlier, when I first arrived, there had been no help at all with my luggage, and I had to carry everything to the room myself. For a hotel claiming to offer premium service, that was unacceptable. I’d been put in a smoking room even though I clearly said I’m allergic to smoke. I called reception right away to ask for a change, then waited more than 30 minutes before they let me move. There was still no help, and they sent me to another building. I couldn’t even use the elevator because of the security restrictions, so I had to beg the guards to let me in. Dragging all my belongings alone was extremely difficult, especially as a woman traveling by myself. The whole experience was frustrating, exhausting, and completely unacceptable. The way guests were treated was disgraceful. Is this hospitality? I expect an immediate explanation for such poor service and proper compensation for the inconvenience.

The staff were lovely, and the rooms were clean and tidy. Spacious and comfortable place, with good food.

There are plenty of places to eat nearby, especially Japanese restaurants, and a supermarket across the road with a small bakery and takeaway packaged food. There are also lots of massage places around the hotel. The room was spacious, with a very firm bed that let me sleep really well. It has a mini kitchen stove if you want to cook, and there are two buildings, so your room depends on which wing you’re assigned. To get the aircon working, the magnetic side of the key card needs to face up in the slot. The toilet has a bidet seat, which is a plus. I think there are many Japanese and Korean guests because of the nearby golf resorts.

The rooms are big and very clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. There’s a night market, 7-Eleven and mini mall just outside, plus two gyms in the hotel. Some gym equipment is old or not working, but it’s fine for me. The soundproofing is still the same problem. I could clearly hear next door, and if there are kids, I’m really unlucky. The walls are thin, and they seem to have made them even thinner for the cables and sockets. Apart from that, this is a great hotel. I think this is a problem with hotels across Thailand.
