Khum Lanna Boutique Hotel

Our stay was okay, but relaxing was hard because teenagers were in the rooms next to ours. I think there was a children's sports festival in Sisaket at the time.

The place has a quaint feel, but everything seemed disorganized. They mixed up bookings, reservations and checkout dates. Service was poor, and breakfast amounted to soup, three cold eggs and sausage I couldn't identify. The stray cats were persistent and annoying, though at least there were no rats. The café doesn't actually exist. The AC was strong, but the beds felt like concrete, seriously. It wasn't great value, although hotel prices all seemed considerably higher during our trip through Isan.

I only need a clean bed and a good shower in a hotel room. The bed was clean, but the place generally wasn't. The AC worked fine, while the Wi-Fi was nearly useless and then stopped working altogether on day two. When I asked for the router to be rebooted, I got blank looks. A younger man eventually gave me a Wi-Fi extender, and once I plugged it in the connection was excellent. The towels were like rags. After I mentioned it following the first night, they replaced them with new shower towels, though the hand towels were still disappointing. We tried breakfast once, but they had run out of almost everything, so we didn't go back.

I travel over 25,000 km in Thailand each year, and this is certainly among the best hotels I've stayed in. It's modern, exceptionally clean, and in a pleasant, quiet area. My only complaint is that the room could use more electrical outlets. Highly recommended.
