Set among green hills near the Myanmar border, this resort has a wonderful location and a great view. The rooms were fine, parking was good, and the restaurant served good food.

The bungalow’s lamps out front didn’t work, and even the staff couldn’t get them going while we were there. The stairs beside a steep slope were dangerous after dark, and we were lucky there was almost a full moon. The breakfast was poor, with cold fried rice and eggs, margarine instead of real butter, and only cold sausages for meat. The villa itself was nice and had a big bathtub, but at first there was no plug. Filling it took ages because the water ran so slowly, and the heater couldn’t keep up. After two hours, the bath was cold, so the tub is mostly for looks. The shower had no shower head, just a flat stream of water. Never again!

The rooms are basic, but the view is nice.
