Phuphaphung Resort

The room was a good size, clean, and had a roomy shower area, plus plenty of outlets. The trouble was the value: there was no kettle or tea setup in the room, and the WiFi kept cutting out. We also weren't told when booking that our room was about a 500m walk from the pool and breakfast restaurant, though some rooms are closer. Fortunately it stayed dry during our visit. We tried to have dinner at the resort, but they didn't serve beer, so we went elsewhere.

We stayed two nights, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. My grandma struggles with stairs, and there isn't an elevator, so getting to the third floor was really hard for her. The rooms are small, with poor design and bathrooms, and there's no balcony or place to dry clothes after swimming. Food choices were limited, and what we got was cold and tasteless. The staff seemed kind and polite, though I can't say much more about them. For the price, the stay felt overpriced.

The bed was comfy, the bathrooms were clean, and the food was tasty. I'm not totally sure about the fried rice, but it was okay. It's a good place to get a comfortable night's sleep, and it looks prettier than you might expect. The price, though, is really, really high.

The shower was rusty and old, and the tiny wetroom was awkward to move around in. There was no kettle or hair dryer in the room. At night we could hear shouting and banging, and from 6:00am the room service noise made sleeping in difficult. I heard there was no lift. We were on the ground floor, so my 80-year-old mum managed, but it would have been a big problem otherwise. It looks lovely outside, but inside was a different story. We won't return or recommend it.
