Tid-jai Homestay at Suan Phueng

Good place.

The BBQ pork was ordered before 4 PM for 6 PM delivery, but didn’t arrive until 7 PM. It was raining, so the BBQ restaurant itself wasn’t the issue, though I’d suggest bringing your own food. The bigger problem was the service at the accommodation. In all the places I’ve stayed, I’ve never had staff take so little care of us. We had three rooms, 14A, 14B, and 15, and they weren’t close together. I called the two numbers in the booking email many times with questions, but neither answered. I wanted to rent a fan and buy drinking water and ice, but they wouldn’t deliver, so I had to go buy everything myself. Someone later said they could deliver, but we were still left walking to get the supplies. Ice for drinks cost 20 baht per serving, so that meant making a lot of trips. I would have bought a sack, but they didn’t provide containers. The accommodation price and service should be in line with each other.

I came in early June hoping for a quiet place to relax, and the atmosphere really surprised me in a good way. It was peaceful, not crowded, with light rain, cool comfortable weather, and water to play in. The simple room suited me, and it was the right size for two with a little room for luggage. There was no internet signal and only weak Wi-Fi, as the accommodation had told us when booking. We actually liked being offline, talking more with my partner and having BBQ without our phones. It helped us pay more attention to each other and communicate. There was a mosquito net in the room, but the electricity flickered even when I only used a hair straightener. The air conditioning was another problem. I got up to adjust it about 20 times because it kept going from too hot to too cold. The house next door had teenagers talking on their phones and playing games loudly all night, and I was woken up almost every night. The owner probably didn’t check on them very often. You can order food, BBQ, snacks, beer, and other drinks at reasonable prices, about 5 baht extra per item. It was acceptable. For a nature getaway, I’d recommend it, especially in the rainy season.

We stayed in an air-conditioned room for 950 baht, and the room, location, and service were all good. The riverside atmosphere was lovely when we visited in mid-May 2026. The water wasn’t flowing strongly, but it was shallow and safe for swimming. I’d suggest putting larger water bottles in the room, since the ones provided were the smallest size, along with a roll of tissue. There’s a convenience store nearby, but it would be nice to have more suitable supplies in the room.
