Morn Ing Hostel

I booked it for a night before my morning connecting flight. The hotel transfer was easy and smooth, even though I arrived in the early hours. My room was comfortable and private, and the price was excellent for what I got. I’d recommend it to anyone needing a good place for a layover.

I stayed one night before my flight so I could avoid taking public transportation across the city. It was simple but well looked after, and they arranged an airport drop-off, which was great.

10/20 update: Those photos of the cleaned bathroom don’t establish that the toilet was clean. The lid is down, so they don’t show that there wasn’t poop inside. We weren’t threatening anyone. We asked the front desk whether any compensation was possible, and weren’t even asking for a refund. After checking with the owner, the staff came back and said, “The owner won’t compensate you for anything! If you want to leave a review on Google, go ahead!” So we wrote down what happened. There was no threat, and we just wanted to state the facts. “I stayed one night and found poop in the toilet.” We arrived around 11 PM, and the front desk staff were friendly. We were exhausted, so we showered without checking the toilet. When we opened it to use it before bed, there was poop left by the previous guests. It grossed me out, but we were too tired to do anything except leave it unused and go to sleep. At breakfast the next morning, we told the front desk. He apologized, and I gave him the key so they could check the room. He said the cleaners take photos to confirm everything is clean, especially the beds and bathrooms. But their photo didn’t show the toilet seat up, and there was definitely poop inside. I was shocked that the cleaners seemed not to have lifted the seat to clean. The front desk employee spoke to the manager and apologized again, but offered no compensation. I said I’d write an Agoda review about what happened, and he said okay. That’s what I’m doing: there was poop in the toilet. That’s the bottom line.

Morn-ing is a lovely hotel right by the airport, and it cost 200 baht to get there. The rooms are clean and practical, and it wasn’t as noisy as I expected so close to the airport. The manager gave me a great welcome, helped organize everything I needed, and was very friendly. He even dropped me at the airport the next morning. Coffee was included, and breakfast was available for a small fee. Thanks for the hospitality. I’d recommend it and come back on my next layover.
