Le Menara Khao Lak beachfront Villa & Resort

The room faced the center of several resort blocks, with sunburned brown grass and no sea view, which is what you expect at a resort in Thailand. Housekeeping was unbelievably bad: during our two-week stay, the floors were never vacuumed or washed, and dust was everywhere. They only used a duster. Our family also felt the hotel catered entirely to French and Italian guests, not others. As other reviewers have said, the Bravo group of young people was very loud, making the resort busy and not relaxing. Breakfast was boring and unimaginative, service was slow, and although the menu looked broad, almost everything was unavailable. That isn’t what you expect from a five-star resort. We bought our own shower gel and shampoo for the first week because the hotel’s smelled unpleasant. Housekeeping then removed our products from the shower room. At checkout, they claimed we had taken those items, and also blamed us for a missing teaspoon. We don’t use hotel spoons or cups. Five-star? No, at most three stars, and in my opinion, two.

I was surprised that this place got poor reviews, because my own stay was amazing. The room was beautiful, clean, and well maintained. The staff were young, friendly, and professional, always greeting us with big smiles.

We visited the restaurant too, and the food was delicious. The staff were pleasant and friendly, the rooms spacious, with solid wood furniture and thick walls that kept the buildings cool. The grounds were well cared for, and I was charmed by how quiet and peaceful it was. We stayed October 3-4, and were lucky enough to see one of the most beautiful sunsets. Highly recommended.

The view from the Villa beach View was amazing, and the room was fine, but the music played loudly until 11:30pm every night. It was nowhere near relaxing. Cleaning was extremely poor: the cleaner left her clothes in the bathroom one day, and the towels were extremely dirty every day. The bin wasn’t emptied daily either. For the price, location, and property, I don’t recommend this place. Management doesn’t seem to care.
