Pullman Khao Lak Resort

We had a great stay from start to finish. The hotel is very well kept and clean throughout, and the staff were courteous, attentive, professional, and always ready to help. The spacious rooms were comfortable and in good condition. When we mentioned it was our honeymoon, they kindly upgraded us to a large family suite. It felt like a thoughtful gesture. The food was excellent throughout. Breakfast had lots of variety and options for different tastes, and both lunch and dinner were delicious and well prepared. There is a large inviting pool, easy access to the beach, and a calm, welcoming atmosphere that suits a romantic trip or a longer stay. Gin Jee at reception and hosting was especially wonderful. She helped with every request patiently and with a warm smile. That kind of service really stays with you. It's a high-quality hotel and a place we'd gladly return to. Highly recommended.

The beach bar was a pleasure, and the people working there were so kind and brightened our days. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of choice and eggs cooked fresh at the live station. We also found the pocket app really handy for messaging the concierge, ordering things to the room, or asking general questions. Our luxury villa had a private pool and was everything we'd hoped for: spacious and elegant, with complimentary bottled water and delicious coffee for the mornings. Everyone working there went out of their way to make our stay great. One thing to keep in mind, you have to get up very early to claim a sunbed by the sea, at the beach bar, or by the pool. Right next door are small massage huts and Blue Sky, a charming beach restaurant with inexpensive, tasty Thai dishes. It's a lovely place to try local food just steps away. I warmly recommend Pullman Khao Lak for its mix of luxury, comfort, and local charm.

Our children loved the pools and beach, and the resort itself is spacious and striking, with a lovely beachfront setting. Housekeeping was reliable, requests through the app were usually handled quickly, and both check-in and checkout went smoothly. Those parts worked well. The service elsewhere often felt indifferent. At Kram Beach Club and Plai Dining Room, some staff were courteous, but one senior woman at Kram Beach Club was rude to us several times. We felt more like a task to be dealt with than guests being welcomed. We also felt uncomfortable at times as the only Indian family among mostly Western guests. I can't say what anyone intended, but that impression shouldn't arise at an international hotel. Food was another frustration. Vegetarian choices were limited, and though we were told there was an Indian chef, we never met him and staff weren't very helpful about what was available. A paid cup of ice cream sent to our room was treated awkwardly, as if it were a bother, even though room orders carried a 10% service charge. On our last night, after Bang Niang Market, we returned late as expected. We'd pre-ordered dinner at 10:14pm, but it didn't arrive until 12:15am, after several calls. The front desk showed little urgency and didn't apologize when we first raised it. The delivery staff member was polite and sorry, but seemed unaware of when we'd ordered. Only one of the three EV chargers worked, and the charging app was difficult with international numbers. A front desk staff member kindly used a local number and later deleted my card, though the charging setup needs work. The hotel's currency exchange rates were also extremely poor. Kasikornbank (KBank) is a better option for cash. We stayed from 28 Feb to 3 March with our children, aged 3 and 6. For the price and the 5-star brand, the hospitality fell well short. The facilities and housekeeping are strong, but the service felt closer to a 2- or 3-star property. We could find better dining, service, and warmth elsewhere for much less. The resort has potential, but its service needs serious attention.

The kids were happy at the kids club, and having pool access was great. Our room was roomy and comfortable, and housekeeping kept it thoroughly clean. Gee Jin welcomed us, and we felt that warmth from arrival through departure. Karam beach club was convenient and quick, while service at Plai Thai was fairly slow. We enjoyed the Thai food, though I wish the à la carte menu had a wider selection. There are two restaurants, and it would be nice to see more activities or a play space for toddlers.
