The Sunset Beach Resort Koh Kho Khao

There isn't much to do around the island, even though I had a car, so the hotel's free shuttle to the pier was useful. The pier is the one part with shops, marts, and restaurants, and the hotel posts the shuttle times in the rooms and around the property. The island is still quite raw and isolated, which is also lovely if you want to be close to nature. The resort has plenty to keep guests occupied: a mart, table tennis, snooker, a pool with a bar, a restaurant, and fruit stands. There's also a private beach with chairs and other items available all day and night, plus lights so guests can relax there after dark. The shop and kiosks close at 9:30 pm, while the game room stays open 24/7. There's no lift, but it wasn't much of a problem for us. The room itself was huge, with a good-sized balcony, though the architecture and decor are old-fashioned. We liked it overall. The bathroom lock jammed once, but staff fixed it within an hour. It's a nice resort for a weekend, a three-day break, or a staycation. The hotel does its best to look after guests and keep them entertained.

The pool was pleasantly warm, and housekeeping cleaned our villa every day. We stayed in B9, a nice pool villa that was clean and had no bad smell or mold. Everything was close by, including the games room, shop with reasonable prices, fruit bar, poolside bar, restaurant, motorbike rental, and a really beautiful big beach. There weren't many sunbeds on the beach, as other reviews mention, and some restaurant staff didn't pay much attention to us.

This was our favorite place to stay in Thailand, and the value was fantastic. The pool was lovely, the rooms were great, and the beds were comfortable. We also really enjoyed the restaurant and those beautiful sunsets. Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Thanks so much, we hope to come back soon.

A few changes would make the room and outdoor area better: it needs a chair or small couch, and the bathroom could use a brighter light above the sink. Lighting the pool at night would also make the outside space look brighter and prettier in the evening. It's quiet and relaxing here. The facilities are good, with a small shop and a fruit and smoothie bar. The pool is clean and nice, and watching the sunset from the beach was lovely.
