Getting around was the biggest problem. We found out too late that the city was far away and cabs wouldn't come, so without a motorbike or car we were stuck. When we asked for a ride to catch our bus, they wanted 1000 baht, four times what we'd paid to get there. In the car, a woman then tried to charge extra for gas even though the tank looked full. We paid for the ride and left as quickly as we could. The owners were friendly, but this was the second time we felt they were trying to overcharge us. At check-in, they said the website price was wrong and asked for 1000 baht a night for six people. We agreed because it was less than the listed price, then Agoda messaged us saying we'd be charged the original rate because they claimed we hadn't arrived. We managed to block the payment. The room also looked nothing like the photos. The AC worked, but we couldn't adjust it, so it was either freezing or too hot. The room hadn't been cleaned, and the one bathroom for six people was dirty, with black grime on the faucet. I understand bugs can get in out in the countryside, but dead ants were left on the floor. The place itself was just okay, and the beach was passable, but there are better places along this coast that don't cost so much to get around from. We couldn't visit Chantaburi or the Grand Canyon because everything was too far away. We should've checked the location beforehand, but I wouldn't recommend staying here if you plan to see the area. And if you do go, keep your shoes and clothes inside, the dog may take them.
