8IK88 Phuket

We loved our stay at 8IK88. It’s a peaceful place surrounded by trees, with birds, waves and local boats, incredible views, and a small shaded beach with a swing. Check the tides before swimming. There’s plenty to do if you want to stay put, including kayaking and SUP, and Ao po grand marina is lovely for lunch, with a free shuttle there. The rooms are modern, tidy and spacious, and the Wi-Fi was good. Drinks and meals were reasonably priced. Food portions were good, everything was great, and all the staff provided excellent service. The bartender on the beach was so sweet. The owners were incredibly helpful, made us feel at home and relaxed, and paid attention to small details. They were always sharing trip ideas and explaining things. We also appreciated the free shuttle to the local 7/11, and laundry service is available. We had an amazing Thai massage in the privacy of our room. This is a quiet getaway. If you’re planning lots of day trips, I’d recommend hiring a car since Grab taxis get expensive and often cancel because the hotel is remote. We’d recommend 8IK88 to couples looking for a peaceful, meaningful break.

The owners gave us such a warm welcome, and even drove us to the pier in the morning. We stopped here for one night while passing through, and it was a lovely place for that. The setting is beautiful, and we had a lovely dinner, cocktails and breakfast, with the option to eat in the room. The rooms were comfortable, though the bathroom was a little run down and needs renovation. That didn’t spoil a fantastic stay. Highly recommended.

The rooms are modern, clean and right by the ocean. The place looked even better in person than in the photos, which pleasantly surprised me. The guy running it was super friendly, spoke great English and was very service minded. Really, nothing bad to say, 10 points!

We stayed five nights and had amazing service from the friendly staff. The food was delicious, always fresh and hot, and very reasonably priced. Room 1 had unobstructed sunrise views that were just amazing. They offer free rides to 7-11 every day from 8-5 pm, and to the local pier if you’ve booked a trip. The staff arranged a private day trip to help us avoid crowds and suggested places to visit. Since they knew we were birders, they were genuinely interested in helping us spot birds, and we saw many right from the resort. The owner was kind and went out of his way to make our stay the best it could be. People in Thailand are so kind and friendly, which was refreshing. I highly recommend staying here to experience that kindness.
