JJ Airport Phuket Condotel by O

I booked a room for one night before my flight, but when I arrived there was nobody there except a security guard. He told me it was a locals-only apartment block, not a hotel, and that there were no rooms for tourists. I called the listed number several times and got no answer. I also got no refund. Don’t book here and risk losing your money.

The apartment was nicely furnished and close enough to walk to the airport, so it could work for a night before a flight. We stayed four days because we needed a kitchen, but although the booking said guests could cook, there were no plates, kitchenware, or stove. We also had water and electricity interruptions during the day, and there was no direct pedestrian access to the yard. The elevator made loud noises, even though our room wasn’t the one closest to it, and it woke us at night. Fine for one night, but I wouldn’t stay longer.

The beds were so uncomfortable that on check-in night we thought about going somewhere else. The pool and gym also looked quite different from the photos, and felt run-down, not somewhere I’d want to relax or work out. At the front desk, someone seemed ready to overcharge us for a taxi fare; it turned out the driver was just a friend, not a taxi service. I’d choose another hotel.

I barely slept because the elevator near our room was used all night. It made a loud movement noise, plus a 'ding dong' when it arrived and when it dropped someone off. The sound kept me awake, which was especially rough with the next 24 hours of travel ahead. I’m pretty disappointed. In my opinion, if you need sleep, don’t risk staying here.
