Naiyang Discovery Beach Resort

The location is perfect, close to the airport and right on the beach. The rooms feel tired for this price range. Beach chairs aren't included in the room price, except for some rooms, and rooms closer to the beach cost more. Room service skipped my room.

We barely interacted with the staff, apart from the lady at the counter, who seemed really nice and friendly. Our room was very clean, modern and in great condition. The patio doors open straight onto a deck, then you're on the beach. The hotel has its own sunbeds and umbrellas there. At 5pm they move them and put out tables and chairs for people eating at the next-door restaurant. I'd stay here again, and I'd want this same room. Next time I'd probably stay four nights instead of two.

The room, the green square, was okay for about 4,000 baht, though the location gets noisy at night. The smoothie next to the room was good, around 100 baht. But walking 10m from the room to a chair and paying 400 baht just to sit down didn't seem reasonable.

I planned on one night and ended up staying almost two weeks. Remember making a tent as a kid out of sheets and chairs in the living room? It's like that, except you're in real tents with a huge covered veranda. Go be that kid again.
