More like staying in a condo than a hotel, and nowhere near four stars. The air conditioner was broken, and staff couldn't get it fixed for three days. The service was poor.

The place itself is nice, but the noise made our month there almost unbearable. Renovation work was still going on, and I regret not taking the other reviews about construction seriously. I thought it might be finished by the time we arrived, but apparently not. At night, guests kept coming and going, talking loudly, slamming doors and partying at all hours. The walls are so thin you can hear people far down the hall. They showed no regard for the rules or for people trying to sleep, and the front desk did nothing despite our complaints. We never got a quiet moment or a good night's sleep. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The Regent Bangtao has nice facilities and friendly staff, but the construction beside my room ruined the stay. From 9 AM to 4 PM the noise was so loud it woke me each morning, and nobody told me about the work before I booked. Reception first said there were no other rooms. A day later, after I said I'd mention the problem in my review, they offered an upgrade. I turned it down because it felt like an afterthought. The staff seemed indifferent to the disruption, and I was left wondering why they'd put me right next to the construction in the first place. The lack of advance notice and concern left a bad impression. If you're thinking of booking, check with them first to see whether construction is still happening.

I stayed there in 2023, and by 2024 I couldn't say how things were because I'd moved out. The building is old, made with stone and heavy bricks, but it has a nice location within walking distance of shopping malls and the community. Most of the junior staff were polite. The juristic staff and building management, though, no comment. Some foreign owners, Russians, bought rooms and did major renovations, hitting walls and drilling. I understood that this was against condominium renovation laws, and that approval from city officers, sometimes called the green print, was normally needed first. I'm not sure whether they got it. Work on one room on the third floor, among others, went on at irregular hours, loudly and all day, for more than 4-5months. There seemed to be no limit to how long it could continue. I tried talking to the new owners. I told them I worked from home and a neighbor had a newborn, with all the dust and noise, but they didn't care. Staff and the juristic person seemed to lack knowledge of the rules and laws and couldn't do anything, saying the owners had already bought the rooms. It felt unfair that I had to move out.
