Garden Hill Hotel

The location and general atmosphere were highlights, and the cleaning staff were at it every day in both the rooms and shared spaces. The hotel may have seen better days, but it still makes for a nice local stay. Sound carries easily, so you'd hear everything if more guests were staying. The balcony door had a large gap, and reception could do a better job welcoming guests.

There's not much to do in this small town, and you'll need a motorbike to get around. The location is okay, but the shower is weak and there's noticeably little greenery.

The room was spacious and clean, and the bed wasn't hard. Air conditioning and shower were fine, and everything worked. I was pleasantly surprised to find a hair dryer and safe in the room. There's a lift in the building, a wide fire exit stairway, and a roomy car park. You get what you need here, with nothing to complain about. We found our favorite meals at Richy restaurant and Thai Muslim restaurant. Balcony was a bit farther away, but walking there was good exercise. Center Point night market is also walkable and highly recommended for the food, right by the famous roundabout and police station. We also walked to the morning market. There are barbers and salons nearby, including some small shops opposite the hotel that do good work at low prices. A Grab taxi to those places is probably around 65 - 75 THB /trip. The airport was around 110 THB from the hotel, and a Tuk Tuk from the train station for two people cost about 80 THB. We'll definitely stay here again.
