Kooncharaburi Resort Kong Kang

We had mixed experiences at KC Grande Resort on Koh Chang. The resort’s beachfront side is beautiful, with stunning White Sand Beach, amazing sunsets, and well-maintained pools and public areas. Breakfast had a good selection, and the restaurant staff were friendly and professional. Our room was in the Hillside section, and it was disappointing. That area feels quite separate from the beachfront part, worn and somewhat neglected, without the feel you’d expect from a five-star resort. The buildings and surroundings look dated, and our room felt old and in need of renovation. For the price of a five-star stay, it felt more like a two- or three-star experience. The difference between the two sections is significant and should be explained more transparently. People booking Hillside rooms should know that the standard differs from what the main marketing photos suggest. The playroom and other facilities also seemed heavily used and outdated, and several areas clearly need refurbishment. KC Grande has a fantastic location and real potential, but the Hillside section urgently needs renovation to justify its price.

The location is hard to beat: the resort is on what I think is the most beautiful stretch of beach, and 7-Eleven, local bars, restaurants, and rentals are right nearby. It feels intimate and quiet, with easy access to everything. After exploring the island, I’d call KC Grande the most beautiful hotel on Koh Chang, a great mix of luxury and comfort. We stayed in the ocean-side Seaside wing, which I highly recommend. The rooms were modern and spacious, with that premium island feel. Breakfast was delicious, with a huge range of fresh, high-quality choices. The spectacular pools were well maintained and lovely for relaxing with a view. Cleanliness was top-notch and the staff were great. If you want to be close to the action while still feeling like you’re in a private paradise, this is it. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

The smoking areas are the one small thing I’d change. I’d prefer them farther from the pool seating. Otherwise, this is a beautiful, relaxing place on White Sand Beach, with lovely sea views, enjoyable pool and beach areas, and shops, restaurants, and other conveniences close by. The location is excellent, and the staff were consistently polite, helpful, and professional. The food was fantastic. Breakfast was the best I’ve ever had at a hotel, with a huge selection and something for everyone. Afternoon and evening meals can be a little expensive, but that feels reasonable for the atmosphere, location, and service. The menu has plenty of Thai and international choices. Rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. I could access my Netflix and Prime accounts, which was a nice bonus, and housekeeping did an excellent job and communicated well in English. In my opinion, KC Grande Resort is the best hotel on Koh Chang. I’d happily stay again and definitely recommend it.

The beachfront setting made getting around easy, and breakfast was a highlight, with plenty of high-quality choices each morning. We came with our one-year-old and had a lovely time. The resort felt calm, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. We’d happily stay at KC Grande Resort Koh Chang again.
