Trat Tara Boutique Hotel

For a 2 star hotel, this place is wonderful. The staff are so nice and accommodating, and the grounds are beautifully landscaped. The rooms are modern, very spacious, and well designed, almost like having a whole apartment with a kitchenette. Definitely stay here!

The suite is amazing, large, comfortable, and overlooks a man made stream. The price difference for a suite is small, so it’s worth splurging. At this price, I don’t think I’ve stayed in a better hotel anywhere in Thailand. It’s secluded, about a half hour walk from the bus station and 15 minutes from town. A pool would make it perfect.

It’s a little out of town, but the centre is still just a 10 minute walk away. This new hotel is easily the best value in Trat, maybe even the best at any price if you want a big room with great facilities. The bed is huge and comfortable, with two quilts, and there’s a Smart TV with Netflix. Nice balcony, too, and it’s peaceful. Highly recommended.

We were happy enough with our one night, mainly because the bed was so comfortable, easily at a 4 or 5 star hotel level. Still, we’d probably choose a city centre hotel next time rather than return here. We could hear our neighbours through the thin walls, though they lowered their voices after 10pm and the rest of the night was pleasantly quiet. Our suite had a bedroom and a large living area with a sofa bed that could probably sleep another 2-3 people. But we found the living room impractical: there was no dining table or proper work desk, and the kitchenette had no utensils at all, not even a microwave. That rather defeats the point of a suite for us. There was a coffee table on the porch that could work for a meal, but in rainy season the mosquitoes outside would probably be a problem.
