It’s a peaceful spot between the train station and Nong Bua pond, with open fields and trees around it. The station is about a 5-minute walk, crossing the rail via the wooden cushion, and there’s a 7/11 about 3 minutes away. The owner and staff are very kind. The room is simple and basic, but clean enough, with a hot shower, TV, and a small, lovely balcony. The price is quite cheap. You can reach Nong Bua pond in about 2 minutes by shortcut. "Nong Bua" means "lotus pond" in Thai. There are two shortcuts. Soi Rimnongbua 3 is blocked now, though you can get through a small track in the grass. Soi Rimnongbua 4 is beside the hotel, but dogs bark at you along the way. You can also walk to the Chinese temple by the main road, or go to the 7/11, turn right, and follow the road. Either route takes around 10 minutes to reach the pond. The pond is really great!

It has the feel of an independent film: family eating in the dining room, kids behind reception, and lunch going on. If you write or paint, this is thatbone hotel where you can come work on your epic song.

I paid about 250THB through a third-party website for a double room with a fan, private bathroom, and hot water. I forgot to check the direct price. In my experience, 250 is about the cheapest you’ll find with hot water, since rooms with hot water usually average around 350. The location is a little inconvenient, on the opposite side of the city center, though a shortcut across the railroads goes straight to the train station in about 10 minutes on foot. There’s also a pond and park with a walking course behind the hotel. The architecture can make it noisy, and it seemed like smoking was allowed on the property.
