UDTEL Boutique Hotel

The staff were pleasant and very helpful, and breakfast was basic but plentiful since it was a buffet. Our room was just above reception, facing the road, but traffic noise wasn't intrusive. Maybe the thunder and rain drowned it out, though we definitely couldn't hear the cars. The room was beautifully laid out, modern, and very clean. Shame about the cockroaches in the bathroom, the only reason it didn't get five stars. This is a lovely boutique hotel in a great spot on the main Route 2. We'd definitely consider staying again if we were in the area.

The price was about 6.90 Baht, roughly $20 USD, which felt very reasonable for such a lovely new hotel. It’s a small boutique place on the way from the airport toward central Udon Thani. The staff were friendly and helpful. I didn’t take room photos this time, but the rooms are clean and nicely equipped, with enough hot water, a TV, internet, a refrigerator, and free coffee. I’d happily recommend it.

There’s a nice little coffee shop around the corner, which is a better option than the hotel’s 3-in-1 coffee if you don’t take sugar. The rooms are clean and roomy, though the breakfast is best skipped: you have to order it at check-in, and it seems to come from a takeaway. The bacon shown in the picture was actually cold spam, with boiled sausages. There were lots of midges and mosquitoes around reception, so I wouldn’t linger there.

The street food at the intersection and the nearby Seven Eleven are handy, though the narrow, busy road makes it hard to walk around. Breakfast was a good buffet. The newer hotel has a clean, well-furnished room with a desk, small sofa, TVs, water heater, and plenty of power outlets. Internet was sluggish, though. There’s a pool and fitness room, but we didn’t try either. I’d have rated it five stars if not for the internet and the neighborhood surroundings.
