The lake nearby was lovely in the evening, and I took a short ride around it after settling in. I was cycling from Bangkok toward Chaing Mai, so the comfortable room and morning coffee were welcome. They were also fine with me checking out early, which really helped.

The cafe is such a peaceful place to sit and unwind, and the tea was delicious. Benc and his partner looked after me so well. I wanted to see Huai Kha Khaeng National Park, which doesn't seem to draw many foreign tourists, and Benc put me in touch with an English-speaking guide. The guide took me once and arranged another visit for the next day. They also lent us bicycles to ride into Uthai Thani. The food was great and very reasonably priced, and they sell all sorts of lovely, interesting things, some handmade. This was probably my favourite stay in Thailand, and I felt very well cared for. I'd highly recommend Rain Tree Cafe & Homestay.
