The parking is handy and the staff are friendly. Rooms are large and clean, with comfortable beds, good hot water and effective air conditioning, though it makes a bit of noise. The corridors feel dated and worn. Breakfast was the letdown: cheap processed meats, no proper protein dishes or pastries, and it all felt like cost-cutting.

I had paid in advance, but when I left early in the morning, staff still chased me for payment. They seem happy to collect money, but not to return it. I booked a large bed and was given two small ones instead. The old building had a terrible smell that gave me a headache, and the air conditioner was so loud we couldn't sleep. I had booked two nights, but there was no way I could stay the second night, and the booking was non-refundable.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the pool is big. Breakfast is pretty basic, but for about $40au with breakfast included, this budget hotel is great value. The night market food is really good too, especially the Pad Thai for 40bht, the best I've had. There's a small department store nearby. Getting around is limited, with just two older taxis in town or grab-bikes.
