Baan Panwa Resort

We booked two rooms for five nights. They're spacious, but the air conditioning didn't work well, leaving them hot and stuffy. My husband cleaned the filter himself. The bathrooms were clogged, and the toilet flushes didn't work properly in either room. Breakfast was very basic.

It was really nice to get away from the tourist areas. It felt like my wife and I were the only tourists in town, and people were welcoming and happy to see us. The place worked perfectly for us, though there are gaps around the door hinges where small intruders can get in 😁 I dealt with one. ♥️

The view from outside our room is lovely, and I'm enjoying the time here with my sweetheart. The bed is comfortable and the evening food is good, to give credit where it's due. But we're staying here now after booking through Booking.com, and the experience has been completely unsatisfactory. The bathroom facilities in the room are poor and not clean, breakfast isn't available, and the TV has only seven channels, three of which show snow. There's no whirlpool in the room, and the garden view is just a wall with some greenery. Either the hotel or Booking.com was dishonest in the description. A 50% cancellation fee is ridiculous when you pay for what's offered and only learn after paying that you won't get it. They can't speak English. Paying for something they can't deliver seems to be how they deal with it. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

We came for a quick six day family visit. For what we paid, it was good value, but this is a very old, dated hotel with basic no frills. The staff are helpful, pleasant, and extremely friendly, though they speak only a little English. Our room was clean, but upkeep around the hotel is poor. It's set in a garden, with an open air corridor to the rooms, so bugs and geckos can get in. Bring bug spray, extra strong body spray, and ear plugs for the night. The terrace is there, but I'd avoid going out, as I don't think repellent will save you! The room has a basic kettle and fridge. The wardrobe is just two hooks, drawers, and trouser poles. I hung dresses on the bathroom doors, and there are no hooks for swimsuits or damp clothes. The pool is usable, but poorly maintained. We went swimming and my husband had to get in and remove foliage. LITTLE THINGS MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
