The food is awful, and the bathrooms aren't clean. I'm here in winter and there's no hot water in the shower. Internet only works in the lobby.

A deserted place, one of several closed hotels, especially around this part of Aghir. Closed, fermé, geschlossen, chiuso!

We were there almost exactly five years ago, just before the hotel reopened. We were the first guests, and for two days the whole place was ours. There was no buffet then, and drinks were brought over to us by the pool. The entertainment staff were fantastic, and one of them spoke German really well. The food suited me, though my girlfriend didn't like it as much. There was an adequate choice of drinks. I felt the resort was beyond saving at that point. Everything looked old and worn, and then there was a staff strike over money, which we found ourselves right in the middle of. It was pretty unsettling. For about €300 per person back then, it was quite an “adventure.” I still remember it. 🙉🙊🙈

The grounds were pleasant and the hotel felt cozy, but the food was a big letdown during my 13 days there. There weren't enough vegetables, even though they're cheap in Tunisia. Tomatoes came in small amounts, sometimes none at all. Breakfast meant eggs and occasional pancakes that were raw in the middle. Croissants and rolls were the one thing we could always count on. Lunch was sparse too, with no tea or wine, and beer service stopped on the fifth day. The cooler water tasted salty, so we suspected it came from the tap. Fruit was mostly watermelon, with peaches and melons only twice. The cake for dessert was snapped up straight away. The entertainment crew helped make up for it. There were quite a few of them, around 7-8 people, and I especially liked a guy named Madi. I liked the beach as well. If you walk right toward the bridge, the sea is gorgeous, with no rocks or seaweed. The sunbed mattresses were an issue, but a minor one. It's better to get beach vouchers from Mario, a pleasant man in his 50s. I enjoyed my holiday in Tunisia, or rather on the island of Djerba. I'll definitely return, just to a different hotel.
