Casa Zitouna- Guest House - Kef, Tunisia

The location is excellent, close to the center and within reach of the Kasbah. The hostess can suggest places to see or eat, and her husband is an archaeologist. They were both very friendly and welcoming, and breakfast was homemade and fresh each day. Our room wasn't what we'd expected, but we appreciated the hospitality enough that we chose not to complain at the time. The bathroom needs a replacement shower holder and new bulbs, and there were breadcrumbs in the bed. Wishing them a good future, and enough time to enjoy some nice things.

The people made this such a warm stay, and breakfast cooked at home was delicious. I'd happily recommend it. Merci beaucoup Fatemah.

The house is some distance from the city center, though parking outside felt safe, with CCTV monitoring. The host is a historian who seems genuinely passionate about his work. Breakfast was simple, with local coffee and snacks, and the room had heating, which helped since the house was a little cold in winter. It's a homestay with a private room and ensuite bathroom. The hot water wasn't working, so we contacted the host and were told we could use another room's bathroom. Fortunately, the other two rooms were empty.

Fatma is such a kind, lovely person. Her place was fully booked, so we couldn't stay overnight, but she still made a thousand phone calls to help us find somewhere to sleep. Thanks, Fatma. If we're back in El Kef, we'll definitely stay with you. Claudia & Luca (bikers)
