I came here for iftar, and the food was a big fail.

I booked the deluxe room on Booking about four hours before arriving, but nobody was there when I got there and nobody answered the number. Hours later I found out the host had just returned to the airport. It was hard to get any answer about when I could check in. When I finally arrived, I was told the room wasn't available, only the small room was. The man there tried to charge me the big-room price for it, and they couldn't find the keys. It was a terrible, disorganized and unprofessional experience. I canceled the reservation and walked out. Stay anywhere else in Sidi Bou Said.

The terrace has breathtaking sea views, and the setting is peaceful enough to really recharge. The house feels intimate and elegant, a lovely place to unwind after exploring Sidi Bou Said. Rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated, and look out either over the sea or the picturesque streets. Dar Essalem is a true gem, blending traditional Tunisian architecture with modern touches. Many thanks to the hosts for their hospitality and professionalism. I highly recommend this guesthouse if you're after somewhere peaceful and refined, close to Sidi Bou Said's must-see attractions.

The owners are incredibly kind and attentive, and even offer transportation between the airport and Sidi Bou Said at any time. It's a place I'd highly recommend for a stay, or really a rejuvenating escape from everyday life. Go discover Sidi Bou Said from this enchanting haven. Dar Essallem lives up to its name. Its location gives breathtaking views of the legendary city of Sidi Bou Said, the sea, the city, and Nador. The setting is luxurious, the décor elegant, and the peace absolute.
