La Menara Hotel & SPA

My friend and I spent our last day in Tunis here in November, and we loved it. They gave us the Ottoman suite, with an absolutely gorgeous hand-painted ceiling and outstanding tiles. The decor was beautiful, the king bed comfortable, and there were lots of windows with shutters to adjust the light. The terrace with a table was lovely, and it had the best bathroom I saw in Tunisia, even after stays in 4-5 star hotels. There was a Jacuzzi bathtub, and I liked that each lamp had its own control, which made the place feel more like home. Wiem, the hotel hostess, gave us a warm welcome and superb help. Breakfast was made to order rather than served as a buffet, and there was plenty: French baguettes, croissants, pound cake, eggs, salads, fresh fruit, juices, and coffee or cappuccinos. The wait staff were lovely. The whole place has great views from its hillside spot. It’s a 15-minute walk to the promenade and 20 minutes by taxi to the airport. We used the INDRIVE app for all our taxis. Some dogs in the park across the street barked, but it wasn’t too bad. Otherwise, it was very quiet, a peaceful oasis. I’d stay again in a heartbeat!

Karim and Wem were especially kind and attentive, and all the staff were friendly and ready to help. The room was beautifully decorated, the pool area peaceful and relaxing, and breakfast delicious. The hotel is close to the main streets of Sidi Bou Said. Best hotel in Tunis, highly recommend staying here!

The place was really nice, but breakfast was a letdown. The fruit hadn’t been cleaned, and they charged me 9TND for a coffee capsule that looked like it was complimentary.

The room was spacious, and the hotel was great. Soundproofing was the one real drawback. Wiem at reception was wonderful, so kind and helpful.
