Villa Les Palmes

Leila brought us a generous breakfast each day, and Ali, the villa’s host and owner, was terrific company. We spent an evening together and came away having made a friend. The suite is tastefully decorated and spacious enough for a couple or even a family, with all the conveniences. It has a terrace on one side and a balcony on the other, and from the terrace you can watch city life below.

Tunis is a beautiful city with beautiful places, and this is an attractive colonial house with a gorgeous garden. Mme Olfa, the owner’s wife, was very nice. But I was angry about how MR ALI treated guests, and I wouldn’t recommend Villa les palmes because I think you’ll be disappointed. He was unprofessional, impolite, and didn’t accept criticism. I felt it was disrespectful that he wanted to stay with guests while finishing bottles of alcohol. When drunk, he became aggressive and intimidating. At 300 Dt a night, the service was too expensive. I’d also suggest eating out: 30 dt for a small plate of pasta was far too much. Peace.

Meals and breakfast are homemade and yummy, and Ali Menchari has made the villa feel like a second home. He’s a perfect host. Villa Les Palmes is my favorite place to stay in Tunis, with beautifully furnished, distinctive suites and rooms. It’s right in the city center, 15min from the airport. Highly recommended.

A lovely oasis in downtown Tunisia, in the Montplasier area, and a gem of a place to stay. The hosts are friendly and accommodating. It’s a great spot to relax between adventures, and the food here is not to be missed. Many beautiful sights are nearby, with easy access to public transport.
