Ada İnan Pansiyon

We accidentally cancelled our room booking and still haven’t got a refund. The gentleman wouldn’t answer customer service calls or emails, and just kept putting us off.

The owner demanded 400 TL from my male friend, who was staying with me, because my hair dye had marked a towel. He said gentlemen have trouble getting towels, so apparently we had to pay for one. :) We also run a guesthouse in another town in summer, and I’ve never seen anything this disgraceful. There are other places at similar prices, and I recommend staying elsewhere. We picked this place because it was affordable, and it’s connected to Halicarnassus. But the rooms are incredibly small, the mini-fridges don’t work, and the bathroom is impossible to get around in. On top of that, the owner charges guests extra for all sorts of invalid, ridiculous reasons.

The whole thing was unpleasant, stressful, and a waste of time. This business seems to employ people who don’t know how to speak to customers, and all it gave me was trouble. In a word, disgraceful. They yelled at me on the phone and used disrespectful language. When I asked for the man’s name, he sarcastically said, “Ahmet, Mehmet.” I asked to speak to a manager or someone higher up, and he claimed he was the manager, though I suspect he was the receptionist. As long as İlyas is working there, I think this harassment will carry on. My Saturday night reservation on Hotels.com was confirmed, then they said they’d put the wrong price in and demanded an extra fee. The man I spoke with was called İlyas, or something like that. When I said it wasn’t legal and the document was forged, he told me I could either stay Friday or pay another 1,750 TL for Saturday. Why didn’t they catch the price before I confirmed online? He blamed me for their mistake and acted like he was the victim. This is an unprofessional, disrespectful business.

After reading the reviews, I was a bit unsure, but they didn’t match my experience. It was a clean, comfortable place to stay in Büyükada, with very good value for the money. I’d stay with confidence again. Thanks to Mr. İlyas for being so attentive.
