The building has beautiful architecture and a lovely garden, and from here there’s a wonderful view over the Anatolian side of Istanbul. It’s a historic place and worth visiting if you’re in Büyükada. About 120 years ago, this yacht club was founded as a branch of the British Yacht Club. Its members included parliamentarians, senior bureaucrats, foreign officials, and ambassadors. After reconstruction between 1953 and 1957, it became a hotel and club.

The room was clean and nice, and breakfast was simple, fresh, and good. I’d recommend the hotel for its lovely view and peaceful atmosphere. It has a nice beach and club, too. The staff don’t know English at all, though, and there’s no kettle in the room for hot water.

It’s a lovely place with real historical importance. I wasn’t satisfied with the menu at first, but after speaking with the people responsible for it, I understood how excited they were about making options for vegetarians and vegans. Good communication wins. 🌻🌻🌻

A relative of ours is a club member, and we went to ask about getting pool membership for the summer. The woman handling it was very rude and even shouted at us. I can see why the club is getting so rundown and shabby. She should be fired.

I wanted to have lunch and enjoy what seemed to be a fantastic view, but the guards at the gate wouldn’t let us in. They said it was a private club for members only, even though the terrace was empty. The hotel isn’t open to everyone, and I regret how nonmembers are treated. The gates only open with cards.
