Riva Resatbey Hotel

The staff were pleasant and caring, especially the maid Halime, who helped us a lot and kept our room perfectly clean. The hotel was very good.

I liked the location, the cleanliness, and the breakfast selection, which had something for everyone. The staff were polite and generally okay, though not especially diligent. Even so, given the price, the room should have been kept in better order. This isn’t a low-priced hotel, and I won’t recommend it for that reason. For the other reasons, I would recommend the place. I booked through Agoda and requested airport pickup because my flight from Istanbul landed in Adana at 2:40. I didn’t want to deal with getting cash for a taxi. The hotel never arranged the pickup, so after waiting outside the airport for over half an hour, I got a taxi. I told the driver I didn’t have money and that the hotel would need to pay him; he agreed. At the hotel, I had to persuade reception staff to pay. One of the men eventually gave me 200 TRY, but it turned into a private arrangement rather than a hotel payment. I later withdrew cash and paid him back. Room 112 had a long list of problems. The shower floor was dangerously slippery, and the showerhead was clogged with limestone. I cleaned it myself, though the rubber jets were easy to rub clean. The toilet brush was dirty and broken. The shower caulking looked badly done and unfinished. The wardrobe safe didn’t work because mixed-brand batteries had leaked and damaged its electronics. They brought another safe, but it wasn’t fixed to the shelf, so someone could have carried it away. The curtain rails had no proper stops, and when I opened them to let in the morning light, the left curtain fell to the floor. Maintenance stuffed paper into the ends of the rails to fix it. The double doors wouldn’t close properly either. The left locking handle was locked but the door still slid open, and the right door had no locking mechanism. Street noise came through the gaps.

The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the staff were friendly and polite. The location is great too. It met my expectations more than enough, and you can stay here with peace of mind.
